Ken Savage, Artistic Director
Class of 2014 | Drama & Science, Technology & Society
Hi hi! I'm Ken and I'm a junior double majoring in Drama and Science,
Technology, and Society. I absolutely love theater and have been
involved in various theater productions on campus. I'm also a proud
member of the Stanford Fleet Street Singers. I love singing, Broadway,
Tofu House, creating and talking about theater, Neil Patrick Harris,
and making new friends! I'm so excited to create meaningful theater with
AATP and to show audiences that Asians can do more on-stage than math
and use chopsticks.
Asia Chiao, Artistic Director
Class of 2015
Heya! My name is Asia and I'm an international student from Hong Kong (I know
what you're thinking, and trust me, I've heard just about every continent joke
under the sun). I've always loved theater, and in addition to AATP, I'm also a
member of the Stanford Shakespeare Company, for whom I design costumes. Other
passions of mine include art history, traveling, raspberries, good literature,
HK-style milk teas, and
Sherlock. As other AATP members know, I'm also
extremely fond of food, and can often be found surfing Yelp, planning my next
off-campus dining excursion.
Thanh D. Nguyen, Financial Officer
Class of 2013 | Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity
Hi, there! My name is Thanh, pronounced "tawn." You can call me The
Thanhster Monster. I'm a junior. I own ten pillow pets. I like Herbal
Essences because it makes my hair smell like grapes. I once ate 1.6
pounds of kimchi in one day and suffered accordingly on the toilet.
I am excited to be the Financial Officer for AATP this year because I
like making that shit rainnnnnn.
Jenny Barin, Secretary, Historian
Class of 2014 | History
Hello, all! I'm the panda hat-wearing girl with asymmetrical hair you may have noticed
wandering around the History Corner -- my bio picture is now outdated. Like most of the
Board, I became involved with AATP through
The Secret to Raising Successful Children
last Spring. For those of you who were unable to see the show, my role consisted of getting
slapped, beaten with a ruler, and nearly kidnapped. It was an amazing experience.
I encourage anybody interested in writing, acting, or theater production to utilize AATP
as a means of creative exploration. I am proof they will give a chance to ANYBODY --
and that's a good thing.
Catherine Zaw, Publicity Manager
Class of 2015
Hey, I'm Cat. Hailing from the east
coast, I have worn black since seventh grade. I sleep occasionally and
procrastinate more. Besides eating, I love creative writing, swimming, and
jamming to electronic/dance and hard rock/metal music.I also greatly enjoy
sad story/movie endings, masochistic challenges, and the winter sun.
And AATP's awesome, so you should definitely join the bandwagon!
David Fifield, Events Coordinator
David is a down-on-his-luck computer scientist with a penchant for
palindromes. Which penchant is pent in a resplendent pendent pendant.
A mean S.O.B. with fragile emotions.
Kevin Chow, Technical Director
Class of 2013 | Material Science, Art History minor
HI. My name is Kevin Chow and I'm a senior majoring in Materials Science and Minoring in Art History. I did
sound design for
How to Raise Successful Children and really enjoyed it, since I'm a part of the Stanford Concert
Network and I like working with production and making sure everything sounds goooood and everyone's ears are happy.
Dina Hassan
Class of 2015
Vas Happenin'? I'm Dina Hassan, a sophomore at Stanford who loves the theatah. Currently I'm debating a theater
minor, and I am very excited for our season to come! Other interests include history, drawing, and making weird
facial expressions.
Sarah Jiang
Class of 2016
My name is Sarah Jiang, I'm a freshman this year at Stanford (Go 2016!) and I'm very excited to be an Intern this
year with AATP. I love Broadway, theater, and all things tea-related! I am also incredibly proud to be a part of
Stanford Talisman. I'm interested in telling stories through art, music, and drama, and in exploring stories that
often go untold. For me, the Asian-American experience is still unfolding on the stage as well as in art and music.
I'd love all of you to join me in being a part of that process.
Leow Hui Min Annabeth
Class of 2016
‘Postcolonial feminist writer seeking understanding of how theatre is used for social change.’
Greetings and salutations! If I had an SUpost listing, that’d be me. I’m Annabeth, a frosh from
sunny Singapore planning to major in Feminist Studies. I love, in no particular order, conversations on race and
gender; the satisfaction of writing fin at the end of a page; and the smell of Southeast Asian rain.
Anthony Van
Class of 2016
Nyahi! I'm Anthony. Sometimes called “Van Man,” “Tony,” and “Cat” when I’m on secret missions with friends.
I’m currently planning on majoring in Mech. E., ‘cause I want to build cool machines and I like math, too.
People have mistaken me for being Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, but I'm actually Vietnamese. I also love
writing and anime quite a bit, as well as apples and oranges (because they’re colorful, long-lasting, and
tasty). So far, I haven’t had much experience in theater, but I'm really excited to be part of AATP this
year and maybe to direct/produce/etc. for the first time!
